sustainability
our commitment to a
sustainable future
our mission
Our aim is to ensure efficiency from source to emitter. With this in mind, we engineer hydronic systems that help reduce energy and emissions, and therefore support sustainability in every step of the building life cycle. At Aalberts hydronic flow control, our engineers are passionate about innovative, mission-critical building technology systems. We pave the way for sustainable heating and for eco-friendly residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
In doing so, we do not forget our own role in sustainability. This is why we strive to make our own operations as clean, green and waste-free as possible. What's more we always keep the total life cycle of our products in mind.
our impact
While switching from heat sources that rely on fossil fuels to those that make use of renewable energies is certainly a reasonable approach, it is by no means a universal remedy. Rather, the heating system with all its components must be considered as a whole in order to maximize the savings potential. Individual system components can be replaced with little time and expense - and they quickly pay for themselves, and at the same time, generate considerable energy savings and CO2 reductions.
our sustainability goals
2022
We are able to measure our entire CO2 footprint and thus are able to improve it.
2023
We can showcase how all our energy and water efficiency solutions contribute to eco-friendly buildings.
2024
We will reduce in & out packaging material by 20%.
2025
We only develop products and technologies with a circular design. Waste is recycled optimally.
2020-25
We annually reduce our CO2 footprint with 5%.

The Flamco XStream air and dirt separators and Comap's thermostatic radiator valves and heads save up to 15% energy and in turn carbon dioxide (CO2) emmissions. Not only do they make central heating systems more efficient and cost-effective, they also reduce emissions of greenhouse gasses.
Moreover, in the first 6 months of 2021, we made donations to the UN-certified sustainable hydropower projects in Brazil. The amount is based on the CO2 savings that the sold separators, valves and thermostatic head realize on an annual basis for heating systems. With this we double the CO2 savings!
With our sustainability campaign we have saved more than 8,018 tonnes of carbon dioxide emmissions and 400,893 trees in 2021.

At Aalberts hydronic flow control, we do everything we can to reduce the carbon footprint of our products as much as possible. That's why we carefully consider which material is the most environmentally friendly or how we can extend the life span of our products.
Life Cycle Analysis helps us measure the impact of our products on CO2 emissions during their life cycle. Through that we are able to determine that Flamco expansion vessels, for example, leave a 65% lower carbon footprint in their life cycle compared with what is standard in the market. Similarly, the carbon footprint of Comap's PPSU fittings' is 8 times lower than typical brass fittings.
In 2021, our products have helped customers save €226 million and energy equivalent to 209,329 homes.
