'outstanding' on sustainability
BREEAM-certificate for the new office building in Almere
The new head office of Aalberts hydronic flow control (Flamco and Comap) will be one of the most sustainable office buildings in the Netherlands. Flamco has received the BREEAM "Outstanding" design certificate for the new office building at Fort Blauwkapel in Almere. With an exceptionally high score, the building is in the Dutch top ten of BREEAM-certified office buildings.
Henk Robers (r) receives the BREEAM 'Outstanding' Design certificate from Tom Linneman.
"As a manufacturer of energy-efficient solutions, we have sustainable ambitions. That is why we are seizing this opportunity to build our new office building as sustainably as possible", says Henk Robers, Chief Operational Officer of Flamco. He was proud to receive the BREEAM "Outstanding" design certificate from BREEAM expert Linneman Bouw en Advies on July 28th.
Top 10 in The Netherlands
BREEAM makes sustainable construction integrally measurable and is the most widely used certification method in Europe. Tom Linneman: "Flamco scores exceptionally high with a score of 90%. Only 10% of the top 15% of the office buildings achieve the designation "outstanding". As a BREEAM certified office, Flamco is in the top 10% in The Netherlands".
Health and energy
The high score (86%) in the field of health & comfort is outstanding. "Flamco earns all possible credits here for its employees." In the category of energy, they even score 96%, thanks in par-ticular to the use of solar panels, LED lighting and energy-efficient equipment. Furthermore, the lack of a gas connection means that there is zero combustion of fossil fuels, which results in an 83% score in the "pollution" category.
After completion, in early 2021, Linneman will carry out a second assessment. Under his guid-ance, Flamco will cash in on the high score and indeed expects it to succeed.
