case study
The challenge in the district heating network is focused on localizing temperature and pressure changes at the primary level.
Carlsberg City District - Copenhagen (DK)
Dahlerups Tower and the surrounding Caroline House. The development spans a full city block and includes an 80-metre tower. It comprises 17,000 m² of housing, 7,000 m² of offices, 2,000 m² of retail, cafés, and restaurants, and 14,000 m² of basement and parking space.
The Carlsberg City District is a huge renovation area in Denmark’s capital; this part of Copenhagen has been completely transformed in recent years. Historic factory buildings alternate with modern architecture.
In five new buildings (Dahlerups Tower, Caroline House, Vogelius Tower, Kjeldahl House and Djorup House (89.000 m2 in total) multiple critical system components for the heating and cooling system are developed, manufactured and supplied by Flamco. All these buildings are supplied with heating and cooling energy via a district heating and cooling network.
The challenge in the district heating network is focused on localizing temperature and pressure changes at the primary level. Meanwhile, operator and user expectations for system performance are high.
Due to the scale of the systems, several LogoMax Basic Substations have been installed: an adaptable substation used for the energy exchange between the system medium of the distribution network and the secondary system. The stations are equipped with project-specific pump groups and the necessary control technology . By delivering these items prefabricated, Flamco provides a simple solution for easy install and setup.
Together with the responsible design and installation company, Aalberts hydronic flow control drew up the full design of the technical room including the designs of the pump skids and the district heating and cooling stations.

water-based cooling
The areas of application for water-based cooling systems ranges from industrial applications such as data centers, to commercial applications such as food refrigeration to cooling in offices and residential buildings. A lot of energy can be saved. Read all about it on the solutions for water-based cooling systems page....
