Enabling the growth of sustainable and renewable energy through thermal storage
The Flextherm ECO, the efficient, economical new thermal battery from Flamco, made its debut at this year’s Rexel Expo. This groundbreaking way to store sustainably generated energy at home also won the coveted ‘Eco Responsible Innovation’ tag at the Expo.
Whether it is harvesting solar energy, heating/cooling via heat pump or sourcing from district heating the Flextherm can store it.
Organized by Rexel France, the Rexel Expo is an annual event where energy industry stakeholders from around the world come together to present and discuss the latest developments in energy efficiency, electric mobility, smart buildings, and connected solutions, for both residential and industrial users. Over 200 partner companies, along with experts from Rexel, participate every year, making the Rexel Expo an unmissable event for industry professionals. This year’s theme, “Innovate to Sustain,” puts the focus on sustainability, a key part of Aalberts hydronic flow control’s philosophy.
Virtual experience
The Flextherm ECO was one of several products to be labeled as Innovation Ecoresponsable (environmentally responsible innovation). These products not only work, they work in sustainable, environment-friendly ways, something that is increasingly important as we work towards minimizing humanity’s impact on the environment.
Among the highlights of this year’s Rexel Expo was the digital showroom, a virtual augmented reality space where customers could interact with products in real time. As a major player in the sustainable technology space, Flamco, (an Aalberts hydronic flow control brand) was delighted to offer its French customers their first look at this innovation. Visitors to the Flamco booth were able to see the Flextherm ECO’s diminutive size in comparison to a traditional hot water storage cylinder, as well as ask our experts any questions they may have had.
Environmental priority
With more and more countries phasing out the use of fossil fuels, finding ways to guarantee the availability of hot water in homes that aren’t powered by gas is a priority. The Flextherm ECO converts electricity into heat and stores it, meaning users have access to high volumes of hot water whenever they want it. It can be charged either electrically or thermally, allowing users to maximize their Solar PV generation or decrease their footprint when using heat pumps.
Compared to conventional ways of heating water for home use, the Flextherm ECO wins both in terms of cost and energy efficiency. The Flextherm ECO is designed for home use, its ultra-compact form and ease of installation (a water supply and a 230V electric connection) make it ideal for both new builds and renovations.
If you’re building or renovating a home, the Flextherm ECO should definitely be on your list. You can find your local contact here.
