automatic ‘mission critical’ alert saves pharmaceutical plant from system shut down
The Flamconnect remote service played a vital role by communicating the critical fault to the Flamco team who then immediately informed the pharmaceutical building owner of the threat to their infrastructure before it could come to a critical stop
the customer
A multinational pharmaceutical company’s research and development plant in Dublin that uses two Flamcomat M10 pumpsets with 2x1000 litre vessels in its heating infrastructure.
the challenge
During the COVID-19 lockdown, a suspected fault in the two Flamcomat M10 pumpsets. Although this required immediate attention, in-person meetings and contact was still prohibited, due to increasing Covid-19 infections.
the solution
The Flamconnect remote service was offered for a limited period which supplied tangible data and helped our technical director diagnose the situation. But the true value of the service was realised when it detected a leak in the pumpsets which was causing the loss of 6,000 litres of water per day. A ‘mission-critial’ alert was issued, preventing a production shutdown.
